Original Mix - Deafening Quiet
Today I have a focus on a little known genre called ‘Future Garage’. It shares some similarities with ‘Chillstep’ which is a more relaxed and atmospheric derivative of ‘Dubstep’. However, it is overall darker and signified by syncopated beats taken from UK Garage and heavy ambient elements. I particularly enjoy the fusion of unusual instruments and heavy synths.
Remix - What Can I Do
This song has a special place as it was the first remix competition that I won. I subsequently signed with the German record label ‘MyCore Records’ and released an EP called ‘White Day’ under the name ‘The Opensky’. I also released a single titled ‘Don’t Leave Me’ where I held a remix competition for as well.
Hybrid Orchestral - Lost Resident
I’ve also had a keen interest in cinematic orchestral compositions. While fusing some bass and percussion elements from electronic music, this track focuses heavily on the string section.
Original Mix - Limbo
Due to the clunky nature of MIDI in ProTools I’ve avoided it for music production for the longest time and relegated it to post-production work. Limbo is the first song started and completed within ProTools. Inspired by Imogen Heap and various ‘indie electronica’ artists.
